How barley could assist in detoxification

Barley is one of the cereal grains which can be easily found in markets. It is also widely used in traditional healing approach. One of the benefits of barley is to remove excess water from human body; it promotes more frequent urination. This works for both adults and children. Besides, barley is also good for the stomach and spleen; it reduces excess heat in internal organ. When infected with flu, it is good to have barley as one of the foods to reduce the sickness.

For kids who have sensitive skin, it is good to take barley as it is one of the detoxification methods which are very effective. This will definitely reduce the burden and worry of every parent.

Barley Soup Cooked with Duck Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 200g Fresh Barley

  • 50g Dried mandarin orange peel

  • 300g Winter melon

  • 1 Duck

METHOD:

  1. Prepare all the ingredients and clean thoroughly.

  2. Put all the clean ingredients into a pot; pour in 8 to 10 bowls of water.

  3. Use medium flame; cook the water for 1 and half of hour, boil till left 5 or 6 bowls of water.

  4. Add in some salt.

  5. Ready to be served.

Barley Dessert Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 150g Fresh Barley

  • 150g Cooked Barley

  • 75g Lotus seed

  • 3 slices ginger

  • 30g Dried mandarin orange peel

  • Castor sugar according to taste

METHODS:

  1. Make sure all the ingredients are cleaned.

  2. Put all the ingredients in the pot; pour in 6 bowls of water.

  3. Use medium flame, continue with low flame, cook for 1 and half hour, until becomes 2 to 3 bowls of water.

  4. Put in desired amount of castor sugar.

  5. Ready to be served.
