Ingredients :
1 3/4 cups plain flour
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped finely
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg, lightly beaten
Method :
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
Fahrenheit. Sift the plain flour, baking powder and baking soda into a
bowl. Use an electric mixer to beat the butter, vegetable shortening,
white sugar and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the eggs and vanilla
extract. Beat until well blended. Add in the chopped walnuts and stir in
the flour mixture to make the dough. Take a tablespoon of the cookie
dough and roll into a ball, about the size of a golf ball. Place on a
greased cookie tray, 2 inches apart. Use a fork to press lightly on the
cookie ball. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes, or
until the cookies are golden brown. Store in a sealed container when the
cookies are thoroughly cooled. |
