Spicy Roast Beef Recipe

Brown vinegar

Ghee or 3 tablespoons oil

Medium onions, sliced

Medium tomatoes, chopped

Dried red Kashmiri chilies

Garlic

Piece ginger

Green chilies

Dried red Kashmiri chili

Black peppercorns

Cloves

Cinnamon

Turmeric powder

Method :
  • Wash meat, pat dry, cut into 5 portions and prick all over with a fork.

  • Combine salt and vinegar with ground paste, rub into meat and marinate for 2 hours.

  • Heat ghee or oil in a non-stick pan, add onions and fry till golden.

  • Add meat and fry for 7-8 minutes, turning meat frequently.

  • Mix in tomatoes, red chilies and sugar, and fry for 5 minutes, turning occasionally.

  • Stir in 2 cups water, transfer to a pressure cooker, and cook under pressure for 25 minutes.

  • Allow cooker to cool before opening it.

  • Remove meat from cooker, cut into slices and return to cooker.

  • Simmer for a further 5-6 minutes.

  • Serve with deep fried potatoes and a salad.
