Sweet Mango Chutney Recipe

Ingredients :

5 large green mangoes, peel and stones removed

4 red chilies, chopped finely

1 teaspoon garam masala

2.5 cups raw sugar

2 cup white vinegar

2 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated

1 cup dates, finely chopped

 

Method :
  • Chop the mangoes into large slices and sprinkle with salt.

  • Mix the garam masala with the raw sugar and place in a large pan with white vinegar.

  • Bring to the boil.

  • Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Add the mango, chili, ginger and dates.

  • Simmer for 1 hour or until the mango is tender.

  • Pour into warm sterilized jars and seal.

  • Store in the fridge.
